Through the process of being photographed, can a person’s confidence be revealed?
One day, I asked my friends if I could photograph them for an assignment and they immediately said that they were not comfortable enough to have their photos taken. This inspired me to focus my concentration on building people’s confidence through making them feel like models in a magazine. At first, I took a before photo of every model to use for comparison later with their final photos. I then had a professional makeup artist do their makeup and had the models wear dressy outfits they would not normally choose for themselves for a photoshoot. Throughout the photoshoot, I could see them gaining confidence by trying new poses and being less shy about being photographed in public. In the end, after showing each person their final images, I had them describe how they felt and layered the word they used to describe themselves on the photos. The majority of the models were very surprised that they looked as good as they did, which proves the point that confidence can grow by being photographed.
