Flynn Roe
Flynn Roe’s work stems from a deep interest in architecture. Specifically, Los Angeles structure in which one façade leads to the other without transition. This lead him to document his travels to and from school. Currently, he is engaged to depicting locations that lean toward the fictional, taking into consideration the absurdity of the landscape.
My works centers around architecture and the dialogue that surrounds it. Although I am generally inspired by architecture I see everyday in my hometown of Los Angeles, I’m interested in all kinds of structures. In every piece I use use my materials and images to reflect how I see architecture. I want the viewers to appreciate the buildings for what they are but also get an insight to how I relate to the structure. For example, I like using water color to make the image look like a dream and highlight its natural beauty.
